At Rural Cellular Corporation (together with its affiliates and subsidiaries, "RCC"), we recognize that you value your privacy. Therefore, we strive to protect your privacy while you use our website, including all associated web pages maintained by us (collectively, the "Website"), and the functions, facilities and services we offer on our Website. This privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") only covers our use of the information we collect from the Website, and does not cover the use of CPNI, as defined by the FCC (generally, information regarding your wireless telephone usage).

By using our Website, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and agree to our use, in accordance with our policy, of the information we obtain from you through our Website. Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please check here often for the latest updates.

What Information Does RCC Collect?

RCC only gathers a limited amount of information from you. In fact, you can access and browse our Website, download files and access most information from our Website without disclosing your personally identifiable information ("Personal Information"). The only Personal Information we collect from you is information that you voluntarily submit to us, such as information that you elect to submit to our Website in order to purchase our products or services online or to participate in any sweepstakes or promotions, your email address and/or wireless phone number if you choose to sign up for email alerts, text messages, MMS alerts or other similar data services, or when you email us, and any other information contained in your email. Some portions of our Website require you to select a user identification ("User ID") and password for access. RCC uses the User ID and password to verify and enable your access to those portions of our Website and to improve the products and services we offer through those portions.

We use Personal Information to provide online services to you and to facilitate your use of our Website, such as fulfilling any orders you place with us (including performing credit checks, if you purchase wireless services from us), enabling you to make online payments, sending confirmations of recent online transactions, billing for services purchased online, responding to your inquiries or communications, or otherwise improving our Website. We may also use Personal Information to notify you of additional products and services we offer, special promotions, or information about us ("RCC Notices"). If you do not wish to receive any RCC Notices, please send an email to us at legal@unicel.com. By voluntarily providing us with your Personal Information, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you provide Personal Information to this Website, you acknowledge and agree that such Personal Information may be transferred from your current location to the offices and servers of RCC and the authorized third parties referred to herein located in the United States.

RCC also collects aggregate usage data, including IP addresses, types of Internet browsers, web pages visited, and types of data or content downloaded (collectively, “Aggregate Data”), from our Website and uses cookies, small text files that our loaded by our server onto your computer, on a limited number of web pages. Cookies and Aggregate Data do not contain any Personal Information, and they are used only to help us improve our Website and the products and services we offer to you.

Does RCC Share Personal Information?

We do not sell your Personal Information to any third parties. We consider your Personal Information to be a vital part of our relationship with you and we treat it with great care and respect. There are, however, certain limited circumstances in which we may share Personal Information with certain third parties, as set forth below:

  • Agents: RCC, like many other companies, hires other companies to perform certain functions, for example fulfilling your online orders or providing you with current stock quotes. In addition, we may engage other companies to provide some services through their own servers. Specifically, we contract with other companies to enable you to send wireless text messages, make online payments and buy phones and accessories online. When we employ other companies to perform these services, we require them not to use any Personal Information you provide for any other purpose. Your use of our Website constitutes your consent to our transfer to these companies of any Personal Information which may be necessary to perform those functions.
  • Business Transfers: As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In transactions such as these, Personal Information may be one of the transferred business assets. Moreover, in the event that RCC or any if its affiliates or subsidiaries, or are sold to, acquired by or merged with another company, or becomes insolvent, Personal Information may be one of the transferred assets.
  • Protection of Others and Compliance With Law: We may release Personal Information when we believe that such release is appropriate to comply with law, court order or other legal or governmental process; to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others; or to enforce our Privacy Policy and other agreements. In addition, we may exchange Personal Information with other organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

RCC's Website is not targeted towards children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Moreover, you must be 18 or older to purchase our products and services. Nonetheless, it is possible for children under 13 to use our wireless products and services we offer on our Website without our knowledge. In that event, information we collect will appear to have been provided by an adult subscriber, and we will treat that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
